Dear friends and family,

I hope that God is doing as many wonderful things in your life as He is in ours. We are looking forward to traveling again to San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala in 2012.  On February 4th, we will leave with a mission team from Langhorne Presbyterian Church as a part of Promised Land Ministries to help in medical clinics where hundreds of people will be blessed with free medical assistance and hear the good news of the Gospel.  Our team from LPC works side by side with the Guatemalan team from PLM. Mission teams have been an integral part of the ministry as two cultures come together to serve the same God. The cultural enrichment, lasting friendships, many seeds planted and many people that have come to the Lord are just some of the many blessing reaped through the years.

Guatemala is a striking country with green mountains, flowering trees, impressive volcanoes, colorful flowers and calming sunsets. About half of the population in Guatemala is from Mayan descendants divided in to about 28 ethnic groups, each one with their own costumes, traditions, clothing and way of being. This gives the country a vast blend of people and cultures.

The whole country is a place of contrast, not only of landscapes, cultures and traditions, but also in society; extreme richness and extreme poverty is seen everywhere. But we have known the people to be friendly and always ready to give a smile. While God has opened up a door for us to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people in Guatemala, the exciting part is that you can also share in this compassion.  Many people and children who can’t afford to go to a doctor will be able to, and receive treatment for their illnesses.

Would you consider sponsoring us this year? If you can lend your support to us in a financial way, any amount, you can be a part of sending our hands and feet to heal the sick, and bind up the broken hearted.  While your financial support is important, we also need your prayer support.  Prayer is what will allow us to be successful in our mission.  Our purpose in going is to bring honor to our Lord, and like Christ, to be a servant, and have compassion on those who are less fortunate. While treating the physical ailments of those who come to the clinics, we may have the opportunity introduce them to the Great Healer and minister to them about their spiritual need for Jesus.  Thank you for considering providing your support and may God bless you this holiday season.

In His service,

Brian and Eva Jennings

2 Corinthians 4:5-6

For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”
