We had a great and productive and healthy day! Instructed baby how to make a salad as if I was Julia Child, she took a nap, we took a walk around the block and I acted as if a tour guide in the safari (this kid is going to be confused). She’s really starting to enjoy looking at things and laughing at everything I do. Then the fun started!Talked to the doctor about self-soothing and Cry It Out…all that stuff I’ve been dreading doing. Then not even intentionally meaning for her to CIO, she did because I was on phone with doctor and elbow deep in raw chicken. And I look at the video monitor and there she was asleep. Lasted 30 minutes, but this was progress!
WORKOUT: Throughout the day/evening, I did leg lifts with ankle weights while doing dishes, cooking dinner, playing with baby,
Then hubs came home to dinner and I handed her over the lil lady and got ready for my big outing! He tried to let her CIO, rubbed her tummy as she cried in crib, even rocked her a lock….She wanted to CIO even if she was being held, she was so upset! 😦 I didnt even want to leave them, but had to get out. Went to Babies R Us and picked out a highchair for her 1st solid foods (which really are mushy foods, but whatever!) for my almost 5month old. I even ventured into the toys section to get some flash cards, because it’s never too early to learn. I don’t recommend without trained professional as a guide.
WORKOUT: Then went to the gym, where I stair-climbed and ellipticaled (I assume they can be used as verbs?!!??!). Add on: Did my low impact cardio whilst reading a book:
“While You Are Expecting: 1st Year” about sleeping training while is enough to make you fall off the gym machines because every method sounds worse and more confusing and question evoking than the first. Don’t even get me started on words like feberized and Cry-It-Out, Self-sooth, props, down awake, ugh! My head hurts thinking about it! Trying to figure out what method I should use that night to efflict on my own child — many sound cruel, but necessary (“for her own good” as they say)…I get home and hubs has already put her to sleep and she’s still asleep. Hmmmm….It’s good I a nice long shower and here I am talking to you people.
Well, I’m exhausted rehashing this day. This is my life…Night Night! zzzzzzzzzzzz.
