#WellMomBlogs – Moms need to “Let It Go” – Suggestions for Mommy’s Time Out!

If A Mom Sang “Let It Go” From ‘Frozen’

Sure, you have heard “Let It Go” from Disney’s ‘Frozen’ a million times, but you’ve never heard it like this! Here is the version you would hear if Elsa was a mom and not the ice queen! Cute right?!?!? But I’m sure you shutter thinking about your own life and how you need to Let It Go!

But in all seriousness, every mom needs to “Let It Go!” and make some time for a mommy time out! Although this is easier said than done, below are some ways that may be possible to find a little “mommy time out” to “let it go”!

As any caretaker can experience burnout, moms are infamous for doing everything for everyone else! As they say on the airplane, “put your oxygen mask on first before helping others”. This goes for moms too! You can’t very well help your family if you can’t breathe! So give yourself some air and use some of these time saving and sanity saving tips to get your usual duties done easily and guilt-free!

– Shop online rather than running from store to store on a wild goose chase! Most stores will keep your cart full no matter how long it takes to complete the order – so you can just keep going back to your shopping when it’s convenient for you.
– Buy in bulk! Why should you keep running out to buy toilet paper, diapers, paper towels and all those things you know you will need – they don’t go bad!
– Prepare meals in bulk – cook 5lbs of chicken and then just add it to salads or easy meals when you need a quick, healthy meal!
– Just say “no” – you don’t have to go to every kid’s birthday party or always volunteer for school functions or entertain or anything. Just kindly say you have plans. Send a gift if you feel really guilty.
– Indulge when you can – after the kids are asleep, take a bath, have a cocktail, watch an adult show with your spouse, do your nails! Whatever you need to do to make yourself feel loved
– Join a gym with a childcare! Whether you run, swim, yoga or whatever-just having that time to work on yourself is worth it’s weight in gold! LA Fitness offers the Kids Klub for an additional $10/month! It’s not the most qualified childcare staff, but you can always check in between workout sets! – Do mommy stuff, like classes and with a friend or a mom group. It’s a little more enjoyable!

So, let the laundry sit there, leave the dishes dirty, don’t put away those toys – LET IT GO! xoxo Mamas! You deserve a break!
