Sleep is one of the most important things that you and your baby need to live a healthy, happy life during the waking hours!
We are in the midst of developing a sleep problem! It all started with some nasty teething nights (front tooth) and, of course, I rushed to my sweetheart’s side with motrin, a cold teether and a bottle. Now, after sleeping thru the night for 8ish months (with the very occasional wake-up since 2months old), we are creating a monster. She has woke up every night for 2 weeks straight and I have been giving her a bottle, which is basically conditioning her to ask for food in the middle of the night to sooth her to sleep! Big mistake! Back to the sleep training experiment!
I received this email from What to Expect(WTE) just in the nick of time before we got into a nasty habit. Hopefully this won’t be too painful. In the meantime, I will be giving her a bedtime snack and bottle before she goes to sleep. Then when she whines in the midst of mom’s beauty sleep, I can rest assured that she is not starving and can sooth herself to sleep as she has been doing. Thanks WTE for always knowing my problems before they really become issues!
