Treasure in Travel: Seven US Destinations to Outdoor Adventure Heaven

Our nation is a grand one with so many regions to give us a diverse colorful quilt that is our melting-pot with some of the world’s most precious natural resources, lands, rivers, mountains, forests, wildlife and waterways! The fact that we can all call ourselves Americans is still a blessed miracle and we can thank our founding fathers and mothers for making it ours! We should be thankful and take advantage of Teddy Roosevelt’s preservation of America’s national parks and other treasured landmarks.

Without further ado, we bring your the Seven US Destinations to Outdoor Travel Heaven!

Of course, this list is not complete and it was really tough to make the call to hit the “post” button! However, this article feature destinations which we have explored! Here are 7 great places that have an abundance of local nature, outdoor recreation and adventure!

To create this list, we had help from our good friend Melissa Gambone for collaboration on this effort! (You may remember her from our recent blog Spotlight: founder of A Gambone Travel, and generous donor of the “Bon Voyage Give Away”!)

Lake Tahoe, NV / Sierra Nevada Mountains

Lake Tahoe is a major recreational tourist attraction, which straddles the border of California and Nevada.  It is home to summer outdoor recreation, hiking, art, lake, swimming, water-sports, biking, family-friendly activities, parks and winter sports that take advantage of the majestic mountains. The scenery can be enjoyed throughout the year; however, snow and ski resorts are a significant part of the area’s economy and reputation. The Nevada side also offers several lakeside casino resorts, with highways providing year-round access to the entire area.

Some of the gardens focus on teaching, demonstrating material options, research, and some share rich history on our treasured Lake Tahoe environment.
