This post will be a big one, and will provide a ton of info!  So many friends ask me about how I “cleanse”.  Well, let’s just start off by saying that the word “CLEANSE” is misleading. Recently, this word has been used in marketing ploys for crazy fad diets and makes folks think we are drinking only juice for a week. These types of radical diets have proven unsustainable, with short-lived results and are not very healthy.

As a part of Plants Power Purpose’s mission, we want you to eat better now and forever.  Like all else, when it comes to eating, we advocate nature–that means eating real whole foods, that come from the Earth, the Lord and not a processing plant.  So we choose to use the term “Clean Eating Reset” for this 10-Day Reset, we are eating all Natural whole foods!

Let’s talk about the 10-Day Clean Eating Reset we will be embarking on!  In summary, we are simply eating clean (aka non-processed food with some easy rules, but no counting calories or adding points). This 10-Day Reset will be the seed to your subsequent Clean Eating Plan that will grow your whole body health and not only focus on weight loss (but that usually comes with the package)!

Why We Do A Reset (Cleanse)?

So, in the words of Demi Lovato, “I’m not a supermodel, I still eat McDonald’s, but that’s just me”….  Well, that is just me too, but we must get ourselves back on track! Sometimes we fall off the bandwagon, we spend a little too much time at McD’s and not enough time at the gym… And thats when a Clean Eating Reset is key to a healthy eating lifestyle! Think of this as the start of a journey to the healthier, happier you!  It is a work in the making (just like every one of us).

Generally, we try to cleanse every 3 months–or after a vacation, holidays, girls weekend –or when we realize that eating habits aren’t where they should be.  And thats when a Clean Eating Reset is key to a healthy eating lifestyle!

As a mom or two daughters, it’s so important to be a role model who emphasizes health and wellness behind the food, not just aesthetics and weightloss! This is why it is so important to introduce ourselves and our families (I should say reintroduce our tastebuds) to natural, whole, healthy foods.

It’s basically like you give up ALL the junk the first week and then you can add some of your absolute can’t live without kind of things like caffeine, fats, dairy, etc., later on. In the meantime, you have changed your palate, the way that your brain processes nutrition and even your taste buds enjoy food!

Get to the grocery store to pack your cart (and your body) with all the goodness the ground has to offer (plants, lean proteins, and even complex carbs). This post and our Clean Eating Community will offer just some ideas of the super nutritious foods includes (and lists those no-no foods — who needs that junk anyways?!?!)

Before you do any “Cleanse” or “Detox” besides the Clean Eating Reset in which we are going to tell you about, please read this article from Healthline that gives you the real skinny on detox diets!

So, I’m not going to swear that this will get rid of any toxins and you’ll loose a ton of weight; however, I think a cleanse should be used as a reset for healthy eating habits.   “Clean Eating” packs in whole foods with #PlantsPower of fruits, vegetables, lean protein and complex carbohydrates.  No worries — we will not be drinking veggie juice for 10 days; however, I will give you my awesome shake recipe as well as talk about the power of juicing! You can eat REAL food so that you can come out of the cleanse with a palate prepared to eat clean moving forward.

3) A Little Help From Vitamins from the Vine

So, while we are eating our healthy natural foods, there are also some supplements you can add in to enhance your success!  BTW Ya’ll should be taking a good multi-vitamin and probiotic daily.  For my 10-Day Reset, I like to throw in some extras and I’ll tell you about them!

4) VIDEO RESOURCE: Daily Vitamin Regiment (Supplements for 10-Day Reset)

In this video, I highlight the supplements that I add to my daily routine to enhance my cleanse to really eradicate toxins from my body!  I notice a huge difference and feel a cleanse gives me energy and lowers my inflammation/pain.  I tell you all the products I use (no matter what company it’s coming from — want to be honest and help, not sell you!!!!).
