“I have a Dream” that your goals may be Glorious! When the great Dr. Martin Luther King first mentioned those words to crowds of Americans almost 60 years ago, his vision seemed almost impossible, yet today our children never even heard of segregation. Our children live in the world that he dreamt of! This would never have been possible if MLK didn’t have goals! Well, there’s always room for improvement and for more dreams to become reality!
For big things to happen, you need to first set goals and targets to shoot for! To encompass and revisit this seemingly larger-than-life task, it is a less daunting task if you create your dream in a positive, energetic environment. In the beginning of each New Year, I make a solid effort by meeting up with a group of girlfriends and/or work colleagues to do some goal discussion and girl-bonding!
Goal-Setting Does Not Have To Be Scary

Here are some ideas for Girl-Bonding Goal-Making Sessions:
-
Retreat

My gals just did this with some snowy sports and leisure in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Here’s a video of our recent Winter Wind Down Retreat as grown women wind down…a mountain. Thanks to Gambone Travel for the great getaway weekend.

-
Have an Annual Meetup with Visionary Colleague:
Over the past decade, I schedule a get-together with my friendly business colleague Candi Sterling, founder of the women’s personal brand platform On Her Mission. Candi and I bounce ideas off each other — running the gamut of subjects, from entrepreneurial, philanthropist, social media and overall branding.

-
Visualization / Crafting Activities
Two powerful activities that have been proven to lead to fulfilling successful productivity: Nature Therapy and Intention Setting. Read more about our Intention Setting Planting Activity that you can do alone, with your family, or with a group of friends!
-
Intention / Goal-Setting with Kids
Another day, we hosted this event with a group of kids with a very similar planting activity as described above. The children also envisioned goals, and wrote their intentions for the new school year on their plants. The importance of envisioning your target cannot be lost on our children!

Build Your Dream-Catcher”
Last year, we partnered with #YLLIFESTYLETEAM, a collection of amazing women (and some men too!) who are striving to live a more natural lifestyle. We sat around a new-age sewing circle crafting our personalized Dream Catchers. In some Native American cultures, a dream catcher is a handmade willow hoop, on which is woven a net or web. The dream catcher may also include items such as feathers and beads. As the legend goes, dream catchers are a spiritual tool used to help assure good dreams to those who sleep under them. We want you to have good dreams and night so you can fulfill your goals and live your dreams during the day!
During our crafty time, the women discussed problems, some endeavors, and we even found some snags in our crafting that perfectly symbolized the bumps in the road of life! Although you have a perfect dream in your head, you need to persevere and create a work of art that maybe a little off your original envisioned target! Many of us discussed how our businesses and work/life balance is often like that!
You too can create an environment of open loving goal-setting with your gal pals. All we did was reserve a space at MaGerks Restaurant, ordered some appetizers, while we got creative and chatty! You can craft and create to symbolize and start conversations. Many of us are local to the Philadelphia area suburbs! We have many in-person and online gatherings to get ya’ll plantfully prepared for the Spring season! Check back for MORE VISIONARY EVENTS COMING IN 2020!
