It’s no surprise that “Down to Earth”, the Netflix series reached #3 on the US watch list! This is a super food-filled, plant-lovers travel dream! The show features a different part of the world each episode — teaming up Zac Efron with super food guru Darin Olien. The fun duo travels the globe in search of healthier and cleaner ways to live—while also taking the time to explore different cultures throughout their various adventures.
We are loving that through these picturesque travels, they not only promoting #plantspower, but also providing a non-threatening mainstream shoutout to #foodasmedicine, as part of the mission of the show
The Hunky Hosts

MEET ZAC EFRON: Most of us know Zac Efron, the heartthrob from Disney’s High School Musical or other films. While you would never think that he was deeply concerned with humanity or sustainability, he’s easy on the eyes and travel is nice so maybe people watch for those reasons. However, we were pleasantly blown away — It’s really inspiring seeing a celebrity in this mode of life, appreciating the little things like food, nature, friends and helping us to discover sustainable ways of life from around the Earth. In addition, we all know that Zac reached success and fame, but it is very telling that his current fast-moving, surface-level, rat-race pace of life is not completely fulfilling him! This is a quest for all of us – to see what life can be!

MEET DARIN OLIEN: Zac’s sidekick is non-other than Darin Olien “a widely recognized exotic superfoods hunter, supplement formulator, and environmental activist who travels the planet discovering new and underutilized medicinal plants.”
Here is a Men’s Health article about Down to Earth Co-Host! Although he may not be a household name, if you just google his name, you’ll see a list of accolades, books, articles and a whole business built around super foods and health!
We love this example of one of Darin’s articles, with a list of a plant-based immunity boosting foods. Of course, he is an entrepreneur and is going to want to sell you his super food supplements. So as always, we say to ‘do your research before you buy into any of these businesses’.

We love that they discuss Blue Zones and there is a whole episode devoted to understanding the centenarians of Sardinia’s Blue Zone. All were happy to hear that carbs are back on the menu (in moderation).

CAMP MOM BONUS:
Both show hosts are easy on the eyes, #superfoodstuds and the show is fine to watch around the kiddos! Plus, the hubbies even like this show and these two guys!
With the news, social media and school emails, so negative, this show has been a great way to wind down and end the day with your spouse. #CampMom
