Raising the stakes for MS: Philadelphia area young professionals unite to celebrate the Preakness Stakes and fight MS
PHILADELPHIA – Preakness at the Piazza is a fundraiser for multiple sclerosis (MS) and an opportunity for young professionals in the Philadelphia area to come together, enjoy a historic race and support the fight toward a world free of MS. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous systems and affects thousands of young adults each year. The funds raised will support education and wellness programs, as well as research initiatives to move towards a world free of MS. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 18 and is set to be the party of the spring with plenty of music, food, drinks and the Preakness projected onto a 40-foot screen in the Piazza.
The historic Preakness Stakes, the second leg of the Triple Crown, is an annual thoroughbred race held the third Sunday of every May. This season’s Preakness at the Piazza will provide participants with the opportunity to enjoy food, drinks and conversation while donning traditional and spirited race day hats or bowties. Attendees may choose to sport the ever-popular ‘Preakness palette’ of black, white and yellow, but no matter what Preakness at the Piazza is sure to be memorable and fun-filled.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 5p.m., will take place in the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Philadelphia, Pa. Visit preaknessatthepiazza.com for additional information and to purchase tickets. General admission is set at $65 if secured prior to March 31. This May, come to the Piazza and participate in Philadelphia’s young professional’s event to make your mark against MS. Visit us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and ThunderClap.
