Event and eCampaign to Support the National MS Society!

THANK YOU so much for attending our event on August 11th to contribute to our campaign to raise funds for the National MS Society. We had a great turnout and made it very close to our fundraising goal for the National MS Society Leaders Circle. Through your donation to “The Great Northeast Fights MS”, we have raised $1400 so far!

Special Thanks goes out to the National MS Society, Sponsors, Guests, Donors, Staff, Auction Contributors, and the Volunteers that helped make the event possible. We especially appreciate the support of our inspirational Honorees Justin Swaim and Jason Hardnock, as well as, their family and friends. Props to our DJ “For Sure Entertainment” for donating his time and services! We also appreciate the help from Lisa Hope in coordinating the event at the Old Colonial Inn.

The funds raised through the event and website, will be used to fuel services and programs for young people living with the effects of MS in our area. We appreciated your helping us to get closer to A World Free of MS!

As part of the MS Leaders Circle, we have the responsibility of raising money towards the Circle’s collective goal of $150,000. For our campaign, “the Great Northeast Fights MS”, we have set an ambitious goal of $1,500. While we are very close to hitting the goal, we hope to surpass to raise even more!

Hello. My name is Justin Swaim. I was diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis in July of 2010. I was 28 years old when I was diagnosed with this disease. Fear was my first emotion when I heard those two words from my doctor. This diagnosis came one month before my wedding day to my high school sweetheart, Melissa. Luckily, since my diagnosis, my treatment of this disease has been going well. I still have poor balance, still have chronic fatigue, and still take a needle a day. Above all, Melissa, my love, has been my saint through this all. Her support for me is the only thing that keeps me going. I will stay hopeful and look forward to a cure for this annoying disease soon. I know the world is close with the help of the National MS Society.
