September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – Support ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND FOUNDATION – Gavin Strong Fund!

ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND FOUNDATION FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER (ALSF) – Gavin Strong Fund has been an inspirational cause for my family. My friend dealt with the worst fear a parent can face — they lost their young son to a gruesome battle with Cancer, but this family is not giving up without a fight….

Their goal is, as it is every month, to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer. However, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, so their educational programming and efforts are at their peak. One more person or business involved, creates a ripple effect and allows the Gavin Strong Fund to make a huge impact on childhood cancer statistics. And to CHANGE” Childhood Cancer

“CHANGE” Childhood Cancer

Today, you can be a part of that ripple effect with CHANGE!! Use your spare change to support the Morris Family’s legacy of their courageous little boy Gavin Strong, as they raise funds to help many other children with cancer.

ABOUT GAVIN STRONG: Gavin was such a courageous little man that they called him “Gavin Strong”. This family continues living through even more battles with cancer after Gavin’s passing. Now, Gavin’s grandfather, Steve, is sadly fighting his own battle with glioblastoma cancer. In addition, Gavin’s great-grandmother now has cancer, so the Morris Family moved back to West Virginia to care for their loved ones. Today, we celebrate Gavin’s strong-willed spirit, which continues to be an inspiration to us all. For more information on Gavin’s story please visit: http://www.begavinstrong.org.

The Morris Family are my personal friends. As my former neighbor, Tosha Morris, proudly displayed their “Gavin Strong” sign outside their residence. Tosha told me about how her family came from West Virginia to Philadelphia, PA, so that their oldest son Gavin could receive cancer treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Although I had never met him, I felt encouraged by Gavin, who was such a courageous little man, they called him “Gavin Strong”. Sadly, Gavin lost his battle with cancer in 2014; however, the Morris Family decided to stay and put down some roots in Pennsylvania.

Upon meeting her, Tosha’s strength and faith amazes whomever she comes in contact with. Her and her husband’s perseverance and productivity through their grief is truly inspiring. They established Gavin’s undying legacy through the Gavin Strong Fund and partnered with ALSF to further expand their outreach. Through their many events and projects, Gavin Strong has raised $120,000 for neuroblastoma cancer research and collected 200 pints of blood for the American Red Cross.
