What’s Cooking Sugar? (Wait, it better not be Sugar!!!!)

Happy 1st Day of the Clean Eating Reset! We have been cooking up some tasty, healthy and filling foods. (We are holding off on the sugar!). See the launch blog for details, restrictions and the big list of GOOD foods).

To plan my meals, I used the simple Clean Eating Reset (“cleanse”) Checklist (day 1 below) as my guide for the day but once you get a hang of it, it’s easy!

Here’s some of the goodness I packed in today and can honestly say I’m not hungry:

Hardboiled egg and cucumbers (natural appetite suppressant)

Chicken, spinach, brown rice with butternut squash and cranberries.


We love “Broccoli Slaw” aka “Rainbow Salad” to add to sautéed vegetables for a crispy texture, multifaceted taste and to pack in the #plantspower!


Lots of sautéed veggies with olive oil infused with diluted lemon and oregano essential oils to enhance flavor and boost immunity! (I cook in bulk to have leftovers for quick healthy choices!)

  • Left: green beans, carrots, broccoli
  • Center: chopped Brussel Sprouts, minced garlic and herbs.
  • Right: Brown rice with peas, carrots, squash, chick peas, spinach.

Juicing: While we are eating more than just juice on this plan, making smoothies is an amazing way to pack in the #plantspower. This is especially true when it comes to incorporating something like kale, which I just cannot stomach eating a handful of! However, throw in a banana, some berries, carrots and pineapple. Just be sure to watch your fruit intake–it is limited on the 10-Day Reset / Cleanse.

  • #TrustThePopeye Spinach is a food that’s super easy to add to any meal as it easily takes on the taste of whatever you are cooking!

Just cutting up some Brussel Spouts outside while the kids play and I enjoy my smoothie and banana snack! Enjoy this time by feeling one with nature and its bounty!


Snack: almonds and popcorn is hitting my carb snack spot! (No butter – just a hint of sunflower oil)
